Q: What is the range of temperature resistance, pressure resistance, and differential pressure?
A: Standard pump heads offer a robust temperature resistance, ranging from -20°C to 80°C, with customization available for extremes from as low as -60°C to a high of 160°C.
The typical pump head system withstands pressure resistance up to 4MPa, with certain systems capable of enduring up to 6MPa.
The pressure differential between inlet and outlet surpasses 25bar, contingent on the fluid's viscosity.

Q: What factors should be considered in the installation of the pump? What should be considered when designing the piping system of the pump?
A: In designing, the pump should ideally be installed below the tank, securely anchoring the motor base with screws, introducing the medium's positive pressure to the pump inlet, especially critical for viscous mediums that exhibit poor fluidity. Given the micro gear pump's compact size, it is essential to avoid piping or instrumentation exerting pressure against the pump body.

The inlet pipe should be as short as feasibly possible, with
an appropriate filter fitted to maintain cleanliness and prevent particulates from entering the system.

Pipe diameter requirements: To ensure smooth and efficient conveyance of viscous media, it is highly recommended that the pipe diameter be larger than the pump's inlet size. Kindly adhere to the specifications outlined in our company's proprietary selection software for optimal results. Please note, if the inlet size is inadequate, it may not meet your desired flow rate.

Q: What chemicals can the micro gear pump transport?
A: Our versatile pumps are constructed from various materials, ensuring compatibility with a wide array of fluids. With the extensive diversity of working conditions and fluid types, we diligently advise conducting initial tests in the actual circuit setup to ensure flawless operation. Should your medium include dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, butyllithium, trimethylgallium, pyridine, liquid chlorine, or dimethylacetamide, kindly reach out to us for further assistance. If the conventional pump head is unable to transport such challenging media, we are equipped to offer tailored solutions that align with your specific working conditions.

Q: Can the pump be used for metering?
A: Each of our advanced pumps is a positive displacement unit perfect for precise metering applications. The attained accuracy and repeatability are influenced by the pump driver/control system and the fluid's properties, achieving delivery precision within +/-0.5%. Contact us for comprehensive insights.

Q: Which motors can be used?
A: We proudly provide an extensive array of drive options, including DC Brushless, DC Brush, AC Inverter, Servo, Stepper Motor, and Air Motor, catering to diverse operational needs.

Q: How can we decide the input power of the pump?
A: At JONSN, we expertly calculate the necessary input power based on your working requirements and the distinct characteristics of the fluid in question.

Q: What is the noise value of the pump?
A: The pump's noise levels are contingent upon installation specifics, motor speed, and fluid type. As a benchmark, our gear pump emits a noise level of approximately 55 dB at a 1-meter distance, with a pressure differential of 3 bar and a speed of 3000 rpm.

Q: Can liquids containing solid particles be transported?
A: Our precision-engineered gear pumps are not suitable for transporting media that contain solid particles.

Q: Can the pump be reversed?
A: Ideally, the direction is indicated with an arrow at the factory, denoting the standard flow direction. However, bidirectional operation is feasible.

Q: Can the pump run dry?
A: Crafted with PEEK-modified and post-treated gears and bushings, our pumps boast robust dry wear resistance. For a visual demonstration, view our dry run test video. Nonetheless, minimizing dry operation is advisable to preserve pump longevity.

Q: Is the pump self-priming?
A: Indeed, our pumps are self-priming. Please consult our detailed datasheetfor further specifications.

Q: What is the operating temperature of the pump and motor?
A: Our standard pump heads function seamlessly within an impressive temperature range of -20 to 80°C. Should your requirements exceed 80°C or involve other specific temperatures, kindly consult us,as factors such as magnets, clearances, and motor bearings warrant careful consideration.

Q: How does viscosity affect gear pump and system performance?
A: Viscous materials enhance the volumetric efficiency of the pump and minimize gear pump leakage. For high viscosity fluids, it's essential to reduce speed to prevent overloads. Conversely, low-viscosity fluids contribute to increased internal leakage. As outlet pressure surges, so does internal leakage, leading to decreased volumetric efficiency. However, when pressure, speed, and medium temperature stabilize, internal leakage remains consistent, maintaining a linear flow rate. Pleaseconsult our factory for comprehensive details.

Q: What occurs when a gas and liquid mixture is processed through a gear pump?
A: The gas/liquid mixture flows seamlessly through the pump. However, gas passage may make the pump sound noisier and cause temporary load variations, reflected by outlet pressure fluctuations and changes in motor power consumption.

Q: What are the permissible minimum and maximum speeds?
A: Each model's data sheet specifies the maximum speed, tailored for water as the default medium. For viscous fluids, a reduced speed is necessary. The minimum speed hinges primarily on motor start speed control, flow rate, and internal leakage considerations.

Q: Are Micro Gear Pumps approved by the FDA?
A: Yes, pumps are available with materials compliant with FDA standards.

Q: What is the advised level of filtration?
A: A 25-micron filter is recommended at the pump inlet. Ensure an ample filter surface to prevent pressure drop and safeguard the pump's internal components.

Q: What influences the longevity of the pump and motor?
A: Numerous factors impact service life, including the frequency of on/off cycles, operating speed, load (pressure), and fluid contamination.

Q: Can you explain decoupling (or demagnetization) and its use as a safety feature?
A: If the pump load and motor torque exceed the magnetic coupling's capacity, the magnetic drive pump will decouple, becoming noisy. Immediate motor shutdown is advised to address this issue.

Q: How do we adjust the flow rate?
A: For positive displacement pumps, flow adjustment is simple by altering motor speed. There exists a nearly linear correlation between speed and flow rate.

Q: What is the starting capability of a micro gear pump?

A: Starting capability varies by pump, influenced by factors such as fluid viscosity, line dimensions, steam pressure, speed, and whether the pump operates wet or dry.

Q: Can you describe the internal leakage of gear pumps?
A: Internal leakage in gear pumps refers to fluid from the pressure side flowing back to the inlet side through gear gaps, impacting efficiency. While common, precision micro gear pumps exhibit minimal leakage. Low-viscosity fluids traverse these gaps more easily, making the pump more efficient in thicker, viscous fluids.

Q: What is cavitation?
A: Cavitation involves vapor cavity formation ("bubbles" or "voids") within the liquid, typically due to a smaller inlet pipe diameter relative to the pump's flow rate. These cavities result from fluid and system properties (pressure, temperature, speed) and can cause noise and early pump wear.

Q: How do I identify Jonsn pump?
A: Each of our precision-engineered pumps comes equipped with a distinct LOGO and a laser-etched identification code located on the end face. These codes are a gateway to a wealth of information, highlighting the date of manufacture, specific product code, and unique serial number (S/N). Moreover, your journey into understanding the pump's history is facilitated by the ability to trace the original configuration sheet and comprehensive test records through this very S/N code.

Congratulations, you've successfully mastered all the critical insights into the realm of gear pumps, truly exemplifying your expertise in this specialized field!
